What we store and what we do not
This guide gets used at the worst possible moment, so it asks for nothing in return. There is no sign-up, no accounts, and no way for us to know who you are. This is what does get recorded.
What is stored
When you tap one of the five cases, use one of the two buttons or answer whether the guide helped, a row is written with three things: what you tapped, in which language and when. Nothing else. There is no fourth field.
Your IP is not stored in plain text
So that a hundred visits can be told apart from one person coming back, an HMAC-SHA256 of your IP is stored, computed with a secret key that lives on the server. It is irreversible: that value cannot be turned back into your IP, not even with the whole database. We still treat it as personal data, which is why you are reading this.
What is not stored
There are no accounts and no sign-up, so we do not store your name, your phone number, your email or your contacts. Nor anything you write in the email that opens from here: that message leaves from your mail app and never passes through this server. We use no tracking cookies and no third-party analytics: no Google Analytics, no social pixels, no advertising.
What it is for
Only to know whether the guide works. Which case people pick, how many go on to warn their contacts or open official support and, at the end, whether it helped and what was missing. That answer is buttons with fixed options, with no text box: there is no way to type anything of yours there. If a case gets opened a lot and almost nobody acts, the instructions are badly written and need rewriting. Without that data we would be guessing.
How long it is kept
Records delete themselves after 180 days. Longer is not needed: they show the recent trend, they are not a history archive.
Your rights
We have no way to identify you, so there is nothing of yours we can show you or delete on request: as far as we are concerned you do not exist as a person. If you want to check how all of this is built, the code speaks for itself.
